My name is Pigeon and I am NOT a bird! I am a gorgeous black and white DSH girl who would make you an ideal kitty companion in your home. Those pigeon birds can’t say that! I lived my entire life in my former home but unfortunately, some feral cats got into the back yard and scared me to death! As a result of that trauma, I got aggressive with the other cat in my home. Although I and my people tried to help me modify my behavior, I just couldn’t - so the decision was made to help me find a new home as an only pet in an adult home through AWLMC.
I have thrived in my foster home. At first, I hid away and only came out at night to eat and explore. As I got more comfortable and familiar with my foster home, I gradually opened up to my foster mom. I have two favorite hiding places where I spend most of my time, but I come out to play with the feather wand (a favorite toy) and a ball toy. I also enjoy my scratching posts. At first, I was not eating much but now that I am relaxing, I am finding new foods to enjoy – like treats and Churu’s! I love keeping my foster mom company in the evenings and have even jumped up on her bed during the night. I am still a little skittish about extended petting and brushing but I am learning to trust her to let me set my limits. I may become a lap cat yet!
