Hi there, my name is Nelly – meaning “shining light” or “bright one” – after my warm, gentle personality. My mom says it fits me perfectly because I was the comforting light she needed in her life. I’m a playful five-year-old domestic medium hair girl with a warm black and brown coat and pale teal eyes like the sea.
I meow softly only occasionally, but you'll definitely know when I'm happy – my purring is very loud! Sitting on your chest is my favorite way to ask for love and attention. And when you’re reaching over to pet me; I'll stand up on two legs to meet you halfway. I’m not too big on getting picked up, but okay with it for short periods of time.
Just about anything that moves ignites my curiosity! I enjoy spending my time following you around, cuddling, and playing with you – but I’m also happy when relaxing on my own nearby. When we do play, small toys that I can chase around are my jam, as well as string toys (including but not limited to your shoelaces!)
With enough time to adjust, I can coexist with other animals. At first, I’m a bit shy around new people, but once I know I'm safe, my loving and playful self is revealed. I just need some understanding and a calm, peaceful environment to blossom to my fullest.
