Hi, there – I’m Lucy – a seven-year-old black and brown DSH Tortie girl. Like most cats in a new situation, I reserve the right to inspect the premises and assess your potential as my new staff member. However, I am a quick study and will soon determine that you are a qualified applicant. I will approach you for pets and body rubs, so be sure to do a thorough job. When you pass that test, I will expect you to practice with me frequently, so you do not lose your skills! In return, I will entertain you with my antics. I like catnip toys and feathers on a wand. I am fond of tall cat scratching posts so I can streeeetch my body while sharpening my claws. I have a real cute “meow” that tells you it’s time for more petting. I will also use my soft paws to hold on to your hand so you can continue petting me. I will take up residence in your lap and leave only if you insist. Binge-watching TV is great for quality lap time.
I probably should be your only pet – actually, you won’t have time for another pet – because I am not really happy with other animals. You are enough for me. I am currently on a special diet dry food but the vet thinks that once I get settled in your home, I may be able to go back to regular dry food.
