Hello – I am Iris – a gray and white tuxedo two-year-old lady looking for a quiet home where I can get the loving I want plus watch a few birds and squirrels. I got my name because my previous person loved the name, the flower and me! Unfortunately, she developed some medical issues that prevent her from taking care of me, so I am looking for a new home. I lived a very quiet life from around four months old when she adopted me until now. Her adult son lived with us and I would sometimes sleep with him but usually slept with her – we were best buddies. I am shy with strangers and have had little to no exposure to children or other pets.
I like to play with the laser dot and some of the wand toys and occasionally balls. I especially like the scratching post with a little catnip on it. I really like a cat tree near a window so I can watch what is going on outside. The transition from one home to another may take awhile. I am timid and shy and take my time in warming up to people and places so I will probably hide in small, dark spots. You will know I am OK because I will come out at night to eat and use the litter box. I will gradually emerge to collect on deferred pets and brushing. Did I mention that I like being brushed? I purr! Loudly!
I am looking forward to finding my new forever home and settling in with you. Please come see me soon.
