Hi, I’m Homer, a five year old, handsome black-and-white tuxedo boy! I was named after Homer, author of The Iliad, although the child in my former home called me “Mr. Whiskers” because my whiskers tickled his face.
I’m a quiet, calm fellow who can be a little shy at first. I may hide under the couch while I get used to new people and surroundings, but once I’m comfortable, I love affection, head pets, and even sitting beside you on the couch or occasionally on your lap.
I’m also very playful! I love chasing string toys and thrown balls—and I even play fetch by chasing the ball! I’m fascinated by birds and squirrels outside the window and sometimes chirp while watching them. A sunny window where I can watch nature would make me very happy.
I’ve lived with a large, energetic dog. We sometimes played chase, but when his enthusiasm became too much, I simply walked away—no fights or hissing. I’m a good boy who knows how to keep the peace.
My perfect day would include sunbathing and bird-watching, plenty of playtime, and ending the day with cuddles and lots of head scratches.
I’m looking for a calm home where I can relax, play, and receive plenty of love. My family is surrendering me because their son was diagnosed by an allergist as being allergic to cats. I’m hoping my next home will be my forever home! ❤️
