Harper is a beautiful 3-year-old calico with soft, patchwork coloring and a gentle spirit that is just beginning to shine through. She was discovered spending several months quietly visiting a neighborhood backyard, likely after escaping or being left behind by a previous home. Although she was already spayed, she had no microchip and no one came forward to claim her. The homeowner who noticed her was unfortunately allergic and unable to keep her, so Harper was brought to the county shelter in hopes she could find a safe future indoors.
When Harper first arrived at her foster home, the big changes felt overwhelming. She spent much of her first week tucked safely away and ate very little. During the second week, however, her foster discovered that Harper loves wet food with gravy, and her appetite quickly returned. Since then, she has been eating well and using the litter box perfectly.
Harper still feels nervous and cautious, which makes sense after surviving on her own outdoors for at least three months. She enjoys relaxing in a sunny window and watching the world outside. Recently she has begun allowing brief pets and gentle touches, a wonderful sign that her trust is growing. With patience, kindness, and time, Harper is very likely to blossom into a loving and devoted companion.
