Hi, my name is Bootsie! I’m a 3-year-old orange and white tabby girl with a big heart—and at 14 pounds, a bit of a big presence too. My name has a fun story: my original owner named me Boots after the swashbuckling cat in Shrek, but since that Boots was a boy, she decided to make it my own—so I became Bootsie!
I’m being surrendered because my loving owner had some health issues, but I promise it has nothing to do with my sweet nature. I’m actually a very affectionate cat. I’ll follow you from room to room just to keep you company, and when I’m not by your side, you’ll find me lounging on my favorite burlap square.
I’m playful and curious—I love string toys, chasing the laser, and my absolute favorite thing in the world is catnip! I also enjoy the “ball in ring” toy and squeezing myself into spaces that are just a little too small (which makes everyone laugh, since I’m not exactly petite). At bedtime, I like to curl up with you, taking up a lot of room, while leaving you a sliver to sleep on. In return, I’ll give you warmth, comfort, and purrs that will make your heart full.
I’ll gently remind you early in the morning if my food bowl is empty, because a girl’s got to eat! I love being petted and snuggled, but sometimes, if too many people are around, I can get a little overwhelmed. Just watch my body language and give me a little space when I need it, and I’ll be back by your side before you know it.
