Martin Luther King Jr. Celebration

AWLMC will be participating in the City of Rockville’s annual Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Celebration on Saturday, January 13th from 9:30am-12:30pm at Rockville High School.  This free event kicks off a weekend of service and celebration of King’s legacy and founding principles.

The celebration features a screening of the award-winning documentary “Finding Fellowship” followed by a Q&A discussion with Rev. Gerard Green. The event will also offer showcase a panel discussion with city and county justice, equity, diversity and inclusion professionals, a drum performance by Soul in Motion, the opportunity to meet with and sign up for service projects through a variety of nonprofit organizations participating in the Salute to Nonprofits, and a kid-friendly activity and performance by Groovy Nate. AWLMC will have a table along with an on-site craft project, so if you are free, please stop by!
