Hi there! I’m Harriet, a striking tortoiseshell girl. My rich black fur has bright gold highlights to match my brilliant gold eyes. I’m just one year old, but I’ve experienced some serious ups and downs—starting when my person decided he didn’t want a cat after all and “set me free.” It was chilly out in the parking lot, but I’m a 100% resourceful girl, so it didn’t take me long to make friends with a colony of outdoor cats. They introduced me to their caretaker, who saw that I was much more friendly and people-oriented than the other cats. She could see that the place for me was indoors with a human family. I agree! I’m very happy to be back indoors with opportunities for attention from people. I’m always ready for play or petting. I haven’t gotten the hang of lap-sitting yet, but who knows what the future holds! Meanwhile, I have lots of ways to communicate: I purr up a storm when you pet me, and I can have quite a conversation with you if you respond to my squeaky little meows. I’ve lived peacefully with other cats, both indoors and outdoors. Let’s get acquainted! We can have a squeaky chat and decide whether we’re right for each other.
