The Animal Welfare League of Montgomery County is committed to fulfilling our mission to support the animals and residents of Montgomery County through the Coronavirus pandemic. We are closely watching federal, state, and county guidance and updating our strategy for handling operations as the situation develops.
If you have been impacted financially during these times we have resources available to help. We offer no or low cost spay and neuter opportunities based on your circumstances and offer a pet food bank to help provide both dog and cat food for pets in need. Information and applications for these programs are available on the Community Outreach page.
Currently our physical shelter is open to the public by appointment only. If you are interested in adopting from us, please review our available cats and kittens and email adopt@awlmc.org to begin the application process.
Safety Measures
- Masks are required for all visitors at all times.
- Only one visitor/family is allowed into the shelter at once.
- Upon entry we will take your temperature and anyone with an elevated temperature will be asked to reschedule.
- You’ll be asked to wash your hands and led to a show room we’ve designated for adoption appointments. This room is sanitized after each appointment.
