The Animal Welfare League of Montgomery County is committed to fulfilling our mission to support the animals and residents of Montgomery County through the Coronavirus pandemic. We are closely watching federal, state, and county guidance and updating our strategy for handling operations as the situation develops.
If you have been impacted financially during these times we have resources available to help. We offer no or low cost spay and neuter opportunities based on your circumstances and offer a pet food bank to help provide both dog and cat food for pets in need. Information and applications for these programs are available on the Community Outreach page.
Currently our physical shelter is closed to the public and all of the cats in our care have been moved to foster homes. This step was taken primarily to protect the health of our volunteer community. As of June 2020 we have begun intake for new cats and kittens and are doing limited contact adoptions. If you are interested in adopting from us, please review our available cats and kittens on our social media pages and contact us to begin the application process.
If you are interested in fostering adult cats or kittens, we are in dire need of fosters to accommodate new cats and would love to talk with you! Please complete the foster volunteer application on our website and someone will contact you with more information. If you’re not able to foster but still want to help please visit our Donations page for opportunities to give.
